$8000 Home Purchase Tax Credit Coming Back?

Senator Bill Nelson spoke at a meeting for SW Florida Realtors in November and here is a symnopsis of this speech:
"Here in South FL, where housing values have declined so, there's an additional measure that I believe will help, too: renewing the successful homebuyers' tax credit.

It is an $8000 tax credit for qualified first-time homebuyers and a $6,500 tax credit for repeat buyers. In the first quarter of this year, the tax credit led to a six percent increase in all home sales and a 42 percent increase in the sale of new homes.

That mean: jobs, Jobes selling houses, Jobs financing houses, Jobes building houses. and jobs making everything you put in a house.

That is the kind of boost we need to get FL moving again."

Mr Nelson says he was goiing to file legislation that will reinstiture the tax credit for 2011. We will keep a close eye on this to see if it goes anywhere.

In any case, this market being a very stong buyers market, there are all kinds of offers available to first time home buyers. We will be having some short "First Time Home Buyer" seminars to help folks see if they can qualify for the opportunities out there.
